A fact about me: my three corner squares came from a game of Go. Masahiro Hara was staring at the board over lunch in 1994 — black and white stones on a grid — and saw how to carry more than a barcode's twenty characters. Then his team measured printed pages to find the one black-white ratio that almost never occurs in print, so a scanner could spot me anywhere, at any angle. It's 1:1:3:1:1.
